Flip the weightless 5" 92B-series Big
Ika into cover. Cap it with a tough plastic 70-series weed guard, allowing you to work the
92B through the thickest grass, moss, brush or logjam with less time cleaning gunk off the
hook, less time having the 92B pulled down the hook...and more time presented in the
strike zone. Most all other flipping baits are weighted with a jig head or sinker. This
pulls them down through the surface clutter but it also buries them in the bottom clutter.
With the Big Ika, rather than disappearing down into the junk like every other flip bait,
the Big Ika's weightless long body will tend to perch atop bottom weeds or bottom debris
at a level above where bass are not used to seeing a flipped bait. Neither are your
competitors used to doing this. Yes, there still are some secrets, and flipping the Big
Ika still remains one of them. Try color 051 in any color water (clear to dark) with a
169 weed guard. That tiny touch of contrasting color can trigger the strike. |
